Owner Randi Lee named his first independent restaurant after his great-uncle Leland Chin who settled his family in Oregon in the 1930s. Leland made a great success of his Portland restaurant Chin's Kitchen, building strong community through food, culture and storytelling. Leland Eating and Drinking House continues the family tradition of convivial hospitality providing a gathering place where neighbors can relax, unwind and be well-fed.
Leland's New York Mediterranean cuisine is local and natural featuring in-house curing along with the preservation of local food and beverage. We pickle veggies, dry-age meats, and bake bread right in our kitchen. We buy fresh and make exactly what we need, with as little waste as possible. Our food aims to highlight the quality of organic, local ingredients while providing dishes that make you feel like home.
We use traditional techniques, artisanal spirits and house fermentation to create unique beverage choices. Our wines and spirits are sourced from small producers practicing sustainability. The natural wine list features some of the best producers of organic, biodynamic and wineries. We also support local breweries, cider houses and roasters of New York and Brooklyn to create a unique line up of beverages.

Our reservations open up seven days in advance starting at midnight on Resy.com.
Indoor Dining: We offer indoor dining to vaccinated guests only.
Outdoor dining in our Cozy Cabins is available for all. Please keep your mask on until the host has confirmed your vaccination status. We reserve 2 hour indoor bookings from 5-10pm Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and from 5-11pm on Friday and Saturday. Reservations for brunch, are available on Saturday and Sunday from 10-4pm and we offer lunch on Wednesday-Friday 1-4pm.
Our bar is always open for walk-ins.
Patio Dining: We do not take reservations for our outdoor patio, tables are on a first come, first served basis.
Cozy Cabins: Cabin "Cloud 9" is built for parties of up to 6 people and Cabin "Love Shack" is built for parties of up to 5 people. We reserve bookings for the cabins for 2 hours starting at 10am on Saturday and Sunday and at 1pm on Wednesday-Friday and 2 hours for dinner starting at 5pm. The Cabins offer plenty of fresh air circulation for your comfort. To book a cabin, it must say "Cozy Cabin" when you click to make a reservation.
Vinyl Hour: We offer a casual weekday lunch service from 1-4pm, Wednesday-Friday.
If you are running late, please call the restaurant at (646) 470-7008. We hold the table for a grace period of 15 minutes before offering the reservation to our waitlist.
